Can I Get Ripped In 7 Days?
There are a lot of programs out there these days advertising quick ways to buff up, but can you really get ripped in 7 days or less? Unfortunately no, but it can be done relatively quickly (4-6 months) if you are really determined and put a lot of effort in it. This time frame may vary depending on what type of shape you are already in, but 4-6 months is a more reasonable amount of time for someone in average shape. Make no mistake about it, getting ripped is hard work. If you wish to buff up within a 6 month time frame, you need to work out at least every other day and make sure you follow a proper diet. You need to be lifting weights, doing cardiovascular exorcises, and making sure you have plenty of protein in your diet.
Protein is perhaps the most vital nutrient involved in building muscle mass, and lean meat is an excellent source of protein. There are also a number of protein shakes and formulas available at most health food stores. A large container of whey protein mix containing 70-80 servings can be found for around $40-$60 dollars at GNC and similar stores, depending on the brand you select. Individual shakes that are pre-mixed and bottled can be purchased for around $2-4 dollars as well and are available in a variety of different flavors. Vitamin C is another important nutrient to consume when you are attempting to get ripped. Vitamin C is very beneficial to your cardiovascular system. In addition to giving you higher energy levels, Vitamin C also reduces your chances of suffering from a heart attack or stroke.
Grapefruit, Kiwi, oranges, and bananas are all good sources of vitamin C. If you aren't a fruit person, there are numerous different brands of Vitamin C supplements that you can purchase over the counter. Large containers with approximately 90 tablets are available at health food stores ranging from $7-$25 dollars per container. It is OK to treat yourself to some ice cream or some McDonald's once in awhile, but these types of foods should be avoided on a regular basis. If you are in worse than average shape, it may take you longer to get ripped. It may take an additional 6-12 weeks or more of intense cardio workouts in order to prepare your body for the more intense routines required.
It is important to work hard, but if you have not worked out in a long time it is important to work yourself up. If you decide to try bench pressing 100 pounds and find that you can only do 5 repetitions comfortably, it may be a good idea to go down to 80 pounds or so. You should be able to do at least 3 sets of 10 with the amount of weight you decide to start out with. It is very easy to hurt yourself by pushing yourself too far and you could pull or even rip a muscle. Once you can comfortably do 3 sets of 10 with a given weight, try doing 3 sets of 30 or even going up 10-20 lbs or so.
You can do your cardio exorcises (running, jogging, walking, bicycle, etc.) in the same day as your weight lifting and have a day of rest, or you can alternate days. There is a little room for personal preference but if you want to get ripped quick, you really have to work at it constantly and never take a bigger break than you really need. If you follow a solid routine with the proper diet, you can go from an average build to ripped very quickly. Getting ripped in 7 days is not feasible, but if you are truly dedicated you can definitely achieve your goal in a relatively short amount of time.
